You can't see basements from the outside anyway. However, here a two-story wish meets a development plan allowing only one-story construction. And with an _appropriate_ basement you quickly have a three-story building.

Architects or house manufacturer salespeople, I believe, are also much happier about customers who come with emotional descriptions of their dream house than with a finished floor plan from Auntie and the words "we would now like this with a mansard roof."

One and a half stories) a mansard may indeed fulfill the condition of not being a full story - but with classic floor area ratio and number of stories ratios based on one-and-a-half-story designs, it is hardly possible to reconcile that optimally.

Villa Belavista) what they offer looks quite appealing - but I have not seen anything there with a mansard, which would also change the character of the "Cottage" type quite a bit.
