I don't quite understand what you mean by "simple floor plan." So the entrance should preferably be on the east side. North is also possible; then we just place the house a bit more into the garden, and you walk along the fence at the back - with a windbreak, that's also very feasible. It should be more rectangular. I thought there were many ready-made solutions. But it probably isn't that extravagant after all.

So the neighboring houses are all 1.5 stories. I assume that this is stated in the [Bauplan].

Rather very limited. A mansard roof can be built as a kinked version of a gable, tent, or hip roof. Due to the steep slope of the lower part, in my opinion, it is hardly suitable for eaves, proper angled floor plans would also be possible with it, extensions to the ground for conservatories as well, but you can hardly squeeze a carport under its wings (I would say).

So you mean that one would have problems with the mansard roof when it comes to extensions and projections? Something like that is not supposed to be part of the small house at all. We already have a carport and projections will be eliminated if possible.

Regarding projections, of course the roof surface becomes more complexly composed; with sheds, the steep slope of the lower part makes the depth/height ratio unfavorable. On many older mansard roof houses with an attached vestibule, the attached single-story part then has a hip roof.

A few measurements and sketches showing where the street is and where houses on neighboring properties are would be nice

The basement is probably not wanted either?
