That's not how I see the OP. He is young and enthusiastic, wants to present something nice, also a bit to show off, obviously a guy. But that's not a problem. He registered here because he realized there were some issues. The initial rush was too much for him after all. So much criticism was not appreciated. But he still needs thick skin if he wants to get through the construction. So it's a good exercise. Maybe he'll sleep on it and then we'll calmly break the matter down.

Yes, idiots can also just waste time and come up with alternatives. That would then not be a waste of time – as the OP likes to put it.

What shocks me and perhaps others so much is much more the audacity of Weberhaus to offer something like that for a 650 grand project! That is just embarrassingly bad and downright outrageous.

I was also shocked that Weberhaus, a quality company?, delivers something like that for a ton of money.
But it wasn’t the slanted wall at the top that shocked me… to be honest, as a 90-degree aficionado I instantly thought: how cool, nice wall and in an extreme accent color like blood red, dark turquoise or anthracite, I like it… what shocked me was the pantry, which is placed completely haphazardly and carelessly in the middle of the floor plan.
The view to the fireplace then leads from one side down into the basement corridor.

I don’t believe in “following rules,” but I do expect a bit more harmony and at least somewhat nice sightlines from an architect, even if it doesn’t intuitively result in Feng Shui.
