However, one must differentiate between flush-mounted and wall-aligned. A wall-aligned door can certainly have very good soundproofing properties, including a 40mm thick (flush) door leaf made of hollow core board or solid wood, either cross-laminated or finger-jointed, with aluminum frame, stainless steel whisper lock, etc. I would not generalize; there are such doors ranging in price from ... to ... and the price range is not without reason.

That can't be true, can it? In my rental apartment, I only had a ceiling height of 220.

First of all, thank you for your feedback! I find it astonishing that everyone chose more than 220. I probably have to visit a model park again and measure the ceiling height with a laser to see how it all affects me.

Year of construction from the Kaiser's era?
Existing buildings, of course, are not demolished.

The state building code usually stipulates 2.40m as the clear (minimum) height for living rooms.

... did you really currently have 220 cm as the planned dimension? Already installed roller shutter boxes take up about 20 to 30 cm of room height, meaning the windows would then be up to a maximum of about 190 cm in height, the glass of the windows then up to a maximum of about 180 cm in height. You should really take a look at this in reality.

No, but I never found out the year of construction. My parents' house only had 220 cm as well; it was from a building association.

Single-family house from the 1970s that I am currently interested in probably has similar. But I would have to measure it first.

At most, I could consider that for a future extension upward. But with existing houses, it's pretty difficult.
