I find that awful, where is the coziness on the ground floor with 3m.

That also depends on what you make of it. Then the [Wandteppich] will be correspondingly larger.

Basement: 2.35m Ground floor & upper floor: 2.50m Higher was not worth a cent more to us. In houses with ceilings that are too high, it somehow creates an office-floor feeling for my taste...

It is a 70 sqm room including a home cinema "in the ceiling" and many "light play". That is all sorts of things..but not uncomfortable

So I'm speaking up again.

I measured at a few friends' places to see how it looks in their rental apartments. Mostly between 2.4 - 2.5m.

If you now want to work with a suspended ceiling with spots / indirect lighting, etc., 2.7 - 3.0m already seems reasonable to me!

As long as this does not result in exorbitant costs in a new building, it is definitely worth considering!

But I wouldn't do it just because of the spots. The increase costs you 3,000€ and removing a floor costs a similar amount. You could buy many built-in pots for that, even if you have to pay the horror prices for prefabricated ceilings. Because as you say, spots are for ambiance or specific effects and not for illuminating large areas.
