A walk-in closet is just a larger wardrobe; if I don’t want to disturb the sleeper, I must not have to go through the bedroom after getting dressed. So design the dressing room as an entrance/exit room.

I think a dressing room is simply an “extra room” for clothes, to keep the bedroom free of piles of fabric and stuff.
The walk-in closet has the same disadvantage as a wardrobe: it disturbs the sleeper. That’s why either a small foyer with two separate doors or cleverly plan the dressing room in front of it.
