I have to say, with all your posts so far there hasn't really been anything substantial. Given your surprisingly high number of posts, I expected much more. Apparently, the memories of the last vacation home are not that good, so even the delicious cocktails couldn't make it better. Calling wooden windows battens and blaming the planning itself on mental blockages and design flaws. All that without proper arguments or suggestions for improvement… top notch. I like that. Maybe you’re better off at the next construction regulars’ table in your village pub to explain the "right" approach to floor plan design there. Maybe the blockages will resolve themselves and no one will build with suboptimal solutions anymore. By the way, carport is possible. I was at the building authority yesterday, with the responsible clerk.

Since when is a floor plan critique only good if it is given in the form preferred by Katja - i.e., in the form of alternative plans "fully drawn through" in every detail? Anyone who can read is certainly able to make use of purely verbal comments without illustrations. My presentation of how I experience a design may indeed provoke the TE to "grow" from the result, to "defend" their design and in the process also to work out its pros. By the way, I said nothing against wooden windows, but remarked about wood-aluminum windows that this combination has recently often been misused to mask inferior qualities of the wood with the aluminum cladding. Only in this way is it "possible" to push wood-aluminum windows into price ranges close to those of plastic windows - high-quality wood-aluminum windows, namely, have prices at which, in the opposite federal state, one would say "da legst di' nieder."

Is the north arrow correct? It is not the same as the orientation of the „Lageplans“. If it is correct, then I would not stretch the living area lengthwise but rather widthwise so that it gets more west sun. The bedroom can gladly have this SE orientation… I think there is more potential!

I think first it must be determined where on the property an entrance, carport, etc. can actually be. And then one can decide on the house shape, gladly a bungalow. Because the driveway etc. also somewhat determines where the front door is placed. Then it might turn out that the currently chosen angled shape is not so good.

I would also give the west part of the house more windows.

Another look ... Katja's last variant is already very good, just refine the kitchen area a bit more, then at least this form could basically work.

I actually thought the access was from the north? Something like this:

Or is that not a road at the top of the plan?
