Important, because now it is clear that there is also a basement, which can change the use of the house. I was referring to that and wanted to say that in my opinion it is already sufficient. Of course, more is always possible everywhere, but it should be in proportion to the whole. Your living rooms on the ground floor, for example, are not exactly generous, and it is often not sufficiently considered that family life constantly and significantly changes. Often, people only think about how cute the little ones are, but at some point, friction in the family understandably also arises. For example, we had too much focus on the little ones during planning back then, hence my remark. At some point, you or the children are glad not to have the other constantly right in front of your nose or around you. That is nothing bad.

I think it would make more sense if you start a new thread with your project and begin with the questionnaire. Then you will also receive the desired or undesired answers. Curious to see how your plan looks in 3 weeks

Take every draft and draw the desired or existing furnishings to scale.

Bay windows, if any, should be square. This triangle is a 90-degree angle and impractical.

Many no longer have a pantry because
A) even unheated it is not much colder than the other rooms. The days when beer is cold and cream cake can be stored without a refrigerator are unfortunately over.
B) often the storage space that the pantry provides is more advantageously integrated into the kitchen.

*ROTFL* Darling, you made my day. I have experienced a lot from architects here, even from real ones, but: that one on the one hand says there is a view worth giving the house an outlook on that side, but on the other hand does not yet plan any windows in the preliminary draft, has never happened to me before. By the way, I find your ideas about children adorable; even as someone without children, I know that both are misconceptions: 1. Children mostly stay in their rooms (this is only partly true; they also want to mingle with people in the family living room and participate in life); 2a. Pre-pubescent kids need space in their rooms to play with their laughing-gum best buddies (no, they rather go to the treehouse with them); 2b. Teenagers bring their kissing partners home (yes — but only when there is an empty house). And what skeletons do you have in your closet that you only casually mention its existence on page 7? — Is there a gaming group taking place there? You probably should start a new thread — in my opinion, conveniently with links back and forth from here — once you have the completed questionnaire and all plans together. New threads where not all essentials are in the first post are pointless. And don’t forget the additions I instructed you.

The idea with the view was mine. A bay window my suggestion - only it was implemented in a "90s-like" manner. And the thing with the basement, yes... I just wanted to include as little as possible. I have always had my reservations about presenting a (potential) floor plan of my house on the internet - but I have realized that I probably have to do it to get good feedback.

So... after having to listen to quite a bit from you now (which is also justified), I'll probably do my homework first and then get back to you. See you soon

Compared to telepathic remote diagnoses, reading coffee grounds is probably still comparatively precise - yes, there is some truth to the rumor of a causal connection between examination and diagnosis. Unfortunately, many good advisors are poor guessers.
