That’s why I also put it on the ‘change list’. I agree completely.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the exact dimensions yet. The only drawback is the space next to the bed for a nightstand, but thankfully small shelves on the left and right are enough for me. I believe the ~6.5m2 is also a nice size for a ‘parents’ bathroom’.

But those are very important BEFORE making a decision. They have to be there already, because the architect doesn't plan without them! Since it will be YOUR house, YOU MUST have the measurements and all the information from the very beginning! Somehow I get the feeling that you are being too reserved towards your architect and basically don't want to bother or upset him. That would be a very bad starting position for a house that is supposed to be yours, where open discussion must take place. A design without measurements is almost worthless, because just two or three small things could change the whole thing. If he hasn't communicated or provided this to you on his own, I would take a closer look at whether my expensive "dream home for life" can really be created this way. It could also be smaller if necessary. I definitely wouldn't see the adjacent, rather large main bathroom with just under 12sqm as an exclusive "kids' bathroom"; I can hardly relate to this newly created and in my opinion overused term or find it often exaggeratedly implemented. The "big" bathroom should be for the parents, kids like or can in my opinion still use the parents' bathroom and when they get old enough to want to be independent, they usually no longer want to sleep right next to mom and dad or vice versa. Maybe you yourself will eventually sleep in the guest room... who knows... as an additional bathroom I basically like the idea en suite. I would generally also provide at least a small shower in the ground floor guest/study room, since many things can/will change in the coming years. Guests and others shouldn’t have to go upstairs to shower; at some point the girlfriend/boyfriend runs through the house or something like that. In general, you should post your entire project here and then more people will respond who will really help you to get closer to your wishes or implement them appropriately.

Uffff......are you building a children’s house? The current children’s rooms are already big enough or even "too big." It is currently fashionable that children take up more space than parents (not only physically) and determine the life of their environment, which in my opinion is not really child-appropriate. I have a nuanced opinion on that. Your wife might want her own makeup room or you a billiard room, so the already oversized children’s room doesn’t need to be made bigger. A child can easily go to the guest bathroom on the ground floor in the morning if the parents are occupying the bathroom.

No, these are only the first preliminary drafts. But yes, you are right. Actually, the measurements are essential especially in rooms where space is somewhat tight anyway. I will have them sent to me right away.

I think we talked past each other. They are not supposed to get even bigger. But I think the size they have now is good. I find that children spend many times more time in their room. And especially when they are a few years older and maybe have a girlfriend/boyfriend, there also has to be a bit of space. My wife especially sees it that way. She says she neither needs a makeup nor a dressing room. For luxury rooms like "billiard room" or similar, we still have enough space in the basement. Nevertheless, there is surely a use for the rooms later if they move out.

I have now finished the whole thing so far. Should I then start a new thread for the plan discussion at the end or post it here? So for the final touches at the end? Of course, then everything fully dimensioned.
