Wishes for the bathroom (with bathtub and shower remaining where they are for cost reasons):
Bathtub:
- existing or new bathtub (doesn't matter) pushed against the wall with the head end
- if not too expensive: bathtub shortened to only 170 cm in favor of the shower, but with extra depth (we are all tall)
- bathtub fixtures don’t matter much
- pedestal with recessed bathtub remains, remove the semicircular step, remove the cut above, bathtub flush with the wall on 3 sides
Shower:
- Shower: flush with the bathtub edge: L-shaped wall placed on the pedestal (end of the existing pedestal as a seat in the shower, or completely removed), either glass (like the picture of the black bathroom with moon wallpaper) or masonry or drywall
- entrance to the shower at the window, preferably without a door with a rather narrow opening
- no rain shower
- with step, as high as necessary
- shower fixtures don’t matter much
- drain channel suitable for long hair
- if not too expensive: niche in the wall for shampoo etc.
Toilet:
- Toilet: doesn’t matter, just a normal white one
Washbasin:
- washbasin 160 or preferably 180 cm, mineral cast surface with 2 recessed basins and handleless drawers underneath (we have not chosen one yet)
- faucets probably on the washbasin for cost reasons, not concealed in the wall
- three-hole faucets, preferably Grohe Atrio or similar, with cross or lever handles
Tiles:
- light beige in an easily installable format, porcelain stoneware, preferably with some surface texture and the look of a sandy beach or natural stone, e.g. Porcelanosa Dover Caliza or Porcelanosa Durango Bone 60x60
- preferably only on the floor and in the shower, behind the washbasin and possibly a row above the bathtub, rest plastered
Extravagances we would like to indulge in but that can be left out if necessary:
- above the bathtub, or on both long sides or even all around: bathroom-suitable wallpaper: Wallpepper Riflesso Bretagne Variant B (blue-gray, design can be freely adapted to the wall)
- back wall of the shower (if wallpaper is not continued in the shower and shower walls are glass) as well as strips above the washbasin: gray-blue glass mosaic matching the wallpaper, e.g. Bisazza OP 25.03 - if this does not become visually too much, we are not sure about that
- above the washbasin two rather narrow recessed mirror cabinets (i.e. build the front wall up to the ceiling)
The ceiling may need to be lowered in order to illuminate a masonry shower with a spotlight from above.
Too complicated? If in doubt, just light tiles where necessary, the rest simply plastered and painted in color.
