I understood the company to mean that they basically do not "cosmetically treat" bathrooms, but always completely gut and rebuild them entirely, because that is their standard. They also do, for example, tile edges with miters, etc. However, we plan to talk to them about it again. From the beginning, we actually signaled that we did not want costs to spiral out of control, and our first own proposal was also that the layout should remain as it is. Apparently, the company does not want to agree to that.
The arched windows are like this: the windows themselves all have an arch, but the window openings are all rectangular and have these panels on the inside to create the arch, as seen in the bathroom. From the outside, on the other hand, the window frame, which stands out from the facade, is again in the shape of an arch. So if one were to replace the window with a square one, one would see the window frame from the inside in the upper corners. If anyone can understand that (I can’t...).
We could actually change the door, yes. We would prefer it to open outwards anyway because I always bump into my husband when brushing his teeth and I want to come in...
