but actually that is a white ... but somehow it still doesn't fit. Well, it was the cheapest Geberitabdeckung in the standard. Maybe I need to modify it a bit more

Copied here from my own thread We are actually very satisfied with the bathroom. Unfortunately, the plant wall has not yet grown in densely – I had hoped for that to happen faster. And the white base cabinet is still missing; it will be placed offset to the right under the oak countertop. I would have liked to have a new bathtub – purely for aesthetic reasons – but we had to tighten the budget and kept the old one from the previous owner.

What are the typical experiences on how to create/set up a green wall and how long does the cultivation take? I also find it really beautiful in staircases!

So it's just a relatively simple DIY plant wall - nothing insanely fancy. In the thread "Resthofsanierung - on a budget" I roughly described the setup. I can't give a proper experience value yet, it's still too early for that.

First impressions are:

1. I would never want to install such a thing without automatic watering - I would have to water it by hand at least every 2 days because the small pockets dry out quickly. And with the narrow openings, it would definitely end in a huge mess for me as an impatient clumsy person. However, the common models available all come with automatic watering anyway.

2. Without a concrete guide, it's really rough trial and error what the plants like. Currently, we water every 2 days for 6 minutes each time - thoroughly. Thanks to the felt of the pockets, the plants don’t dry out in between. But I hope it’s not too much water either. Our spider plants didn’t survive. Unfortunately, I don’t know why. We thought it was too much water, so we switched from a daily schedule to every 2 days. That, in turn, killed another plant. We have now replaced these with other plants and are waiting to see. Other plants have already grown in nicely; I might have to prune them soon, while others are unfortunately still at status quo. I’d really like the fern to sprout strongly. So far, it doesn’t want to. I have to say that I don’t really have a green thumb. That means if it works for me, then anyone else can do it too.

I think in half a year I’ll be able to report more.

Thanks for the flowers. I wanted a “cave feeling” - dark gray/black with warm wood and lots of green. Along with fitting jungle music. But you have to like the dark as well. I think this leads to very divided opinions.

I was able to open it now.., I think a climbing plant with beautiful leaves, planted at the bottom of the container and guided up on wires, works just as well and is not so demanding in terms of care.
