Pellets, this dusty, space-consuming, and maintenance-intensive stuff, wouldn’t come into my house either. Heat pump, in whatever form, is definitely the better way.

Again regarding underfloor heating and “burning” feet. It was certainly like that at the beginning of underfloor heating. Undamped houses also had to be heated properly with underfloor heating.

That's exactly what I meant. When UFHs were still operated at 55 degrees, that was a problem. Although "warm feet on cold tiles" was initially perceived by many as an advantage – it is probably not really healthy.

With today's supply temperatures, I hardly believe that this still plays a big role.

Well, I actually know a few heating installers that I definitely wouldn't recommend. I trust my heating installer quite a bit. However, he is not an energy consultant and only somewhat independent since he belongs to a heating and sanitary company that does not work completely independently of manufacturers. But at least he is open to technology and did not worsen the design of the engineer already mentioned here afterwards. Unfortunately, he couldn't do anything about the current delivery problems either, and he also tends to oversize. A 5 kW air-to-water heat pump would probably be enough for me if I hadn't needed the 7 kW anyway due to the bafa subsidy; he wouldn't have installed a 5 kW for me... Overall, I can absolutely recommend him, I just don't know if he is what needs...

In advance: So a heat pump is always the better alternative where it is feasible. But what you write about pellets compared to oil heating is simply unrealistic. Why should a pellet heating system be dusty? My pellet bunker takes up significantly less space than the previous oil cellar. I cannot make any long-term statements about maintenance yet. But so far, nothing. Friends/acquaintances just have to empty the ash twice a year...

I didn't even mention oil heating (oil is dead to me) and it wasn't a comparison with pellets either. I only stated the "characteristics" of a pellet heating system.

When burning longer-chain hydrocarbons, dust particles are always formed in the exhaust gases. That is why newer diesel vehicles have a particulate filter.
