Attach carport with ground anchors - how to align?

Do you have a long transparent tube available? (otherwise hardware store) works great as a water level. If necessary, google the operation ;-) String + spirit level is extremely error-prone (I tested it to determine the slope over approx. 11m for my garden. THAT did not work at all :-(. The landscapers then fixed it with "heavy equipment".

I simply measured them with a tape measure, etc. Yes, I do not have the kit yet, I wanted to align the ground anchors first. But the boards from the kit are also not suitable because they are quite warped. (ist dieser 299 Carport von Hornbach).

When it comes to a carport, it doesn't matter down to the millimeter. The main thing is that the supports stand upright. You can hardly see anything else, a level is sufficient for that.

I used a 2 m straight edge and a level and measured the height difference on the ground. Then I cut the supports accordingly.

However, the carport from the hardware store was too low quality for me. I used BSH (glued laminated timber) because it doesn't twist.

New problem: how do you drill through the 9x9 posts so that you hit exactly the hole on the opposite side? Is there a trick for that?

Of course it exists. Drill exactly vertically. A pillar drill is suitable for this. You can also get a corresponding drilling jig or make one yourself.
