Carport/Garage width - is 2.50 m enough or is that rather too narrow?

You should give us a sketch by now at the latest. Where exactly is this outlet? Because the 6m will probably also include a storage room, etc., right? I agree with the previous speakers about the 2.5m, that is already very cramped and you will be annoyed by such a makeshift solution permanently. You can hardly get a child seat, child, etc. in and out without constantly hitting a door against a wall.

Here is the plan,

the garage was originally planned as a boundary development. The carport was supposed to be between the garage and the house. In the utility room is the ventilation grille (outlet) of the air-water heat pump (Stiebel Eltron LWZ304) facing the garage/carport.

Yes, and now? - now the garage should be set back half a meter from the border (how else could you interpret the now only 2.50 m carport width)? - and what is that supposed to do for the exhaust air wind of the pump?

You are talking about exhaust air with temperatures down to minus ten degrees (which is known to fall downwards, so it doesn’t want to go up anyway, the carport roof does not interfere). In the 3 m wide carport there should be enough airflow beside the car. What exactly are you afraid of if it stays as drawn - a cold for the car?

Either there is no problem, or I am missing something.

The introductory sentences of the thread say that the garage is supposed to be 50 cm wider for storage purposes than initially planned.

The situation is already unfortunate. The air-to-water heat pump has to get rid of its air somewhere, the office window is like ... well, and 2.50 m for a carport minus 20 cm for supports ... well, also not an ideal condition. I see three main options:

1) Build as originally planned
2) Completely omit the carport and possibly widen the garage (wide driveway through savings on supports, more light for the office)
3) Build a double carport with separate, rear storage space (no garage, gain in driveway width through omission of the garage wall)

I don't really care about the exhaust air. But unfortunately it has to go somewhere.

The garage has been moved half a meter away from the boundary towards the house.

According to the general contractor, there must be a 2.5 meter clearance between the house wall and the garage wall because of the mentioned exhaust air so that it can circulate and no mold can form on the walls due to condensate.

This means we cannot make the garage wider than 4 meters.

The originally planned carport is only 2.5 meters wide in the new setup. This seems very narrow to me.

And here is my question/problem whether these 2.5 meters are sufficient for a carport or whether it would be better to omit it altogether or if another solution might be advisable.

Why not put the garage on the boundary? You can't do anything with half a meter anyway.
