You just use the wood instead. If you find a way to get your spirit level absolutely straight on the rod, then that works too. You can also keep measuring manually (but then you won’t make progress) or stick a corner spirit level to the U-profile, but that is probably less accurate.

It doesn't help him that much, since he has other ground screws where the angle, or in his case a U-profile, is already firmly connected to the screw. That means he can't make corrections afterwards but has to go in relatively straight from the start. However, I am of the opinion that he can still make corrections with the post, just not as much as with a subsequently mountable bracket. In the comments, 15 degrees is mentioned, which at least in the dimension parallel to the U will not be possible.

In my understanding, handling with concrete would even be easier and more precise. Without much effort, an exact alignment and stable solution is possible.

Look for fast-setting concrete (quick-setting concrete), available in any hardware store.
Dig a hole, put in the dry concrete, roughly align your U-steel and add water. The fast-setting concrete hardens quite quickly and after alignment nothing warps anymore. Do this 4 times and you can maintain the distances or alignment relaxedly and precisely.

Thank you very much for the many very good tips! I don’t want to use concrete, also because I would have to remove it all should I ever decide not to extend the lease. After consulting with Krinner, such a foundation can withstand about 0.5t of pull in the ground; that should be enough with a total of 9 foundations to prevent it from flying away.

What I haven’t understood yet is how you want to screw in the foundation and level it with a spirit level when the wood is already in @Tolino (because, as I said, you have to reach the holes with the rod to screw it in). I would rather now put a post spirit level around the U-profiles and then screw in without wood.

I would get an extra wooden beam at the hardware store and screw it in for screwing.
