Apply for fiber optic connection in new construction

our new building is completed as far as possible and we can move in. The house connections (water, electricity, and fiber optic) are already in the house. Now I would like to book a fiber optic tariff - preferably also through Telekom.

Currently, I have the following problem. The fiber optic is already in the house. However, a so-called fiber optic ID is still missing. I only get this if I conclude a tariff with Telekom. That sounds a bit like a tied contract to me.

Through Telekom's home builder service, I can book a tariff. And only by phone. On Telekom's website, it shows that fiber optic is available only from May. I also tried via a comparison portal. They get the same feedback from Telekom - so the tariff cannot be booked through it.

From the home builder service, I learned yesterday that they are currently making an internal tool change. All new connections are inventoried there. Only when that is completed can I book a connection via common portals. But I only get the inventory if I have the ID (chicken/egg problem).

Therefore, other providers should also be able to activate fiber optic. During the order process, it is stated that you do not have a fiber optic outlet. In this context, an outlet with an ID will be installed for you, and the new provider will then receive the ID from you or directly from Telekom, and the activation can be carried out. I would not choose the expensive Telekom tariffs or let myself be tied down. It is not about personal funding but that certain areas are promoted for expansion by the federal government. So basically free of charge for the customer. I can't recommend anything because I don't know who could supply your address. For that, you would have to check with the suspects besides Telekom, namely o2 and Vodafone or 1&1, to see what their fiber optic availability says. After that, one might be able to give a tip.
