Aligning the house on the plot: North-South / East-West, what should be considered?

And as I said, don’t forget photovoltaics, the south roof might be better for that.

Since the return on photovoltaics nowadays comes from self-consumption, I almost suspect an east+west roof instead. But in my feeling, the selection of existing floor plans is significantly smaller there.

I see a nice plot of land for one house but not a nice one for two houses. The reason is not the square meter area but the nearly square shape. If you were a developer, I would understand if you want to squeeze all possible buildability out of the plot. But here I would immediately dismiss that idea. What might be in 20 or 30 years is irrelevant now.

I would probably also base the placement on the traffic density of the streets. How is it?

Then you are entitled to make a better suggestion. Anyone can just say it's not nice. Or even put a house in the middle, completely missing the point. ;)
