Because that is the way it is intended. Maybe for kids later on. A solution without botching is supposed to be found. For that, in my opinion, a few more details about the streets and paths around would be needed.
If it is really intended, then that is how it is. I would still take a close look at what compromises have to be made "in case maybe in 30 years..." Who knows if the children really want to stay in the area, if they even want to build, if one will still live there oneself,...
