But the OP doesn’t want that. He wants AI… without any personal effort. And just because I address the topic, that doesn’t mean I handle it the same way.

By the way, I’m not part of today’s luxury generation and have worked for my property over a long time. But I don’t have to tell everyone here unprofessionally about myself and I also don’t have to be insulting just to say something.

Anyway. The original question was a house with 120m2 with a concrete slab, painting, and flooring. And that is possible, albeit only with standard equipment and a bit of searching for a good deal. With additional construction costs, it is of course not feasible unless you pitch in yourself. But that was certainly no different last year or the year before. Otherwise, only the person asking can answer how it was meant. Interpreting something into it is of no use.

Calculate it: slab + floor structure + threshold. You easily get knee-high.
And yes, you can also have gravel laid right away and then have a lower step. But then you already have done the bigger part of the costs for paving by yourself.

I just had my experience with that. I vacuum the doormat every day, yet the dirt spreads in the hallway. And when the stroller is rolled in when it’s wet, it drags the trail of dirt through the hallway. Totally awesome and worth imitating.

Where do you get the money from? In an honest calculation, the money in the other case must go into an extra repayment and then doing it right away becomes almost as expensive as doing it in 5 years. Only with the difference that you have something for 5 years.

“Only the material” also hits the pocket quite hard. If you don’t build on perfectly level ground or still have excavated soil from construction to dispose of, then substantial earthmoving is also necessary. Bringing gravel under the paved areas and compacting it as well. That quickly exceeds what you can manage as an amateur with a rented 1-ton mini excavator. The step to the finished terrace is then mostly done.

Not every house’s foundation slab stands entirely out of the ground. We could choose whether we wanted 1 or 2 steps at the entrance. The same level then applies to the exit at the terrace, 1 step. We took one step, which is far from knee-high. I meant the doormat BEFORE the house, not inside the house. And not everyone builds in the mountains. By the way, not every terrace is paved.

Exactly. One should look at everything realistically and not so pessimistically.

And do you have one? I assume only after 5 years or later, because it was so great?

Now seriously. We've been playing around with the small stuff for a few days...
I always find it interesting how people with finished gardens try to convince others what they supposedly don’t need or can do later. I would rather guide people to plan honestly instead of contorting themselves at all costs for a house and then regretting it later because they’ve been sitting in the dirt for years and lack the money to make a decent garden out of it. For my part, looking back, I wish I had budgeted more for the outdoor areas instead of now dipping into the reserves. We do almost everything ourselves, but “just the material” also adds up very quickly.
