Well, then it's no longer a garden, but rather an outdoor area "at the back". Maybe the term "garden" raised false expectations and now the gardeners among the users are shocked?

Anyone who wants a plastic-coated chlorophyll desert for opaque privacy is allowed to have it. Only tips will be difficult then. I can’t think of more than "seeding the lawn yourself", sorry.

But he wants to save money… (I once had samples sent 15x15 cm…40€/sqm). The question is how much money is still "left over", how the garden/outdoor areas are supposed to be designed at all, and what he wants/can do himself. Btw: for 4K€ there are no 50 m double rod mesh fences. Not even just the material. (Unless everything is supposed to be crooked and warped already upon material delivery and rust is supposed to set in after two years…)

Did you get that from the garden landscaping catalog? ;) Where do you think you can't reach the quality? You just have to inform yourself a bit beforehand but then most things are no rocket science. I would definitely leave it to a professional only for retaining walls significantly over 1m. Drainage strips, paving, lawn, fence – all of these can be done well by an amateur. Since you now live directly on site, you can also do many things step by step.

Please don't, I find your tips very helpful as always and also benefit from this thread because our garden area is also due next year at the latest.

Yep, works very well.

But yews are planted in cemeteries, not in the garden ;)

You should finally delete this outdated opinion from your hard drive. It's always surprising that there are still people who do not understand the signs of the times.
-> Ownership entails responsibility. As a landowner, it is your moral duty to contribute to the preservation of the environment for future generations. Lawns and concrete deserts are dead zones. Please inform yourself about which plants and habitats help preserve flora and fauna in your district. I am sure that your municipality also provides valuable information for this purpose (-> environmental office). Often, these contents are even anchored in the development plan.
