For the spots, there must be an opening in the ceiling. Today, this is mostly done as a semi-finished part with additional concrete. The spot must already be planned in the ceiling when ordering from the concrete plant.

And usually, some empty conduits for the electrician also run in the ceiling. They must also be sufficiently available and in the right place. So if you still want to plan 10 sockets for your multimedia room, it is too late when the electrician arrives.

Thank you .. for the additional explanation. it should be clear that it is not enough to just feel that something is too expensive or to receive tips like "you can just arrange it with the contractor on site". You should then understand or inform yourself sufficiently about the respective things to know when to initiate what, because there will be no one to coordinate that for you. I had already referred to it in on , simply to give a sense of something like that.

It would be different for us. There was an appointment with the electrician during the shell construction, and the positions for sockets and switches were discussed with him. However, for everything that had to be done in the ceiling, it was already far too late by then; that should have happened much earlier.

You are reading something into this that I never said... The general contractor has not yet tendered to the trades! I can still specify everything, change things, and so on...

We also had that appointment. Inside the rooms, it is relatively unproblematic; the individual cables run under the screed in the floor and then up through the chases. But empty conduits were cast into the ceiling so the electrician wouldn’t have to drill through. An empty conduit was also laid for the terrace connection, but in the meantime, we replanned the terrace from south to west. It wasn’t a disaster, the electrician then just drilled through. It would still have been smarter if we had it in the right place.

You can still do that, but not everything behind the GC’s back. You really have to know which things need to be known when, and as a layperson, that’s really hard to assess.
