Because it is possible that it only appears during menopause, etc., or after an illness.

Or suddenly at 18 when you are sitting on the couch. :D Allergies can actually come (and go) quite arbitrarily.

Notes: 1. €17,300 sounds cheap for a central ventilation system 2. I lived for 7 years in a KFW70% house without ventilation and the place was an unpleasant sauna in terms of humidity (and we really ventilated a lot). We always had moisture on the windows and over time also mold stains. I would never do without it. 3. When does construction start? Can you really meet the Building Energy Act 2023 standard without residential ventilation with heat recovery? Nobody gave us a heads-up about the amendment either, just to be safe...

I am also completely pro controlled residential ventilation. We had a central ventilation system in the first house from 2020 and are getting one again. You can hardly compete with that, especially since many people are employed, which also makes this "proper ventilation" that everyone always talks about more difficult. The ventilation system is a dream, especially for the wet rooms. But also in the bedroom. It is simply pleasant when there is a continuous exchange of air. You don’t come back from the bathroom to the bedroom in the morning and have the nightly mustiness in the room; it is simply always pleasantly freshly ventilated in the house. It is pure quality of life, I can only recommend it to everyone.

In the bedroom, you can simply leave the window slightly open at night to avoid the nighttime stuffiness. I also don't want to speak against the [Controlled residential ventilation]. Whoever likes it and can afford it can have it installed. But I find it unnecessary to always present it as a must. You can also get good air through ventilation. We now have a perfect humidity level of 50 to 60%, without [Controlled residential ventilation]. Although I am no longer fully employed, I am often on the move.

Hello, many of the points seem to be reasonable in terms of price. This has already been pointed out, which is useful. Regarding controlled residential ventilation = we do not have one but sometimes I wish we did! In the "wet rooms" (baths, utility room) we have an exhaust fan with a humidity sensor and it is already quite loud. Possibly I will replace these with "proper" decentralized units with heat recovery. At the windows we have window rebate ventilators. Leaving the window open is not an option for us. To get rid of the "stale air" you have to actively ventilate manually. This is not rocket science but it is somewhat annoying - especially when it is windy. Therefore, I would fully agree that a central controlled residential ventilation system means a "comfort gain" - even though I (unfortunately) do not own one. I googled the AEROPAC once: well, it does look pretty bad visually... ps. We do not have moisture problems in an Energy Saving Ordinance 2016 house.
