I will quote myself to answer the first part:

And as for the €500: a new one every 10 years: €200, the above item €150, fuel €150. If you still don't believe it: there are thousands of public profiles on Spritmonitor.

Okay, including maintenance, I overlooked that. Then I agree with you. It’s about right. Easy to underestimate.

I buy a new car in the compact class every three years. Since I keep exact records, I can only confirm the 500 euro costs per month at approximately 20k km mileage per year as an absolute lower limit. A more realistic figure (winter tires, inspections, etc.) is rather 600.

Acquisition 300€
Insurance + taxes 90€
Inspections + tires, etc. 30€
Gasoline 150€

Propagating an "absolutely lower" limit with this user behavior is also somewhat bold. If you don't buy a new car every three years but instead a roughly three-year-old one every ten years, the acquisition costs (depending on the make) are rather around €100, and we don't pay €35 for taxes and insurance – we partly owe that to our postal code, but we also actively considered these items when choosing the vehicle. Fuel consumption, of course, depends solely on usage behavior, but if I set your €150, I am below €300. I can't currently evaluate how much we pay on average for maintenance and repairs, but that is certainly far from €200 per month.

wow... So if you calculate like that, it definitely adds up..

I also quickly calculated because I was curious compared to you

€131.6 / month insurance for two cars. So for one almost €65.
€45.91 / month tax
€400-600 / month fuel
?? / month maintenance is hard. If I roughly calculate spare parts from the last 12 months maybe..
€45.8

If you take that all in at once, it's actually not as little as you think over the year :O

VW Touran diesel, mileage 10,000 km per year, insurance with partial coverage (300 deductible I think) ~ all in all 200 euros per month, without reserves for a new car Now don't discuss the mileage, the car was already there before my commuting distance was reduced to 1 km
