Rule of thumb for reserves per square meter of living space is 1€ from move-in, that is realistic

It's not about dying, but about living. I afford a nice bathroom and don't want to use a crappy toilet. I also don't want to drive a Dacia. Everyone shapes their life as they see fit.

Yes, that's of course true.
Still, you "don't have to" budget that much money monthly for a car. It can be done differently. But of course, one shouldn't deceive oneself or sugarcoat the costs.

Only those who have never earned a lot or will never do so say that. Surely people donate... I do too, and not a little. Still, I claim: If you have 10,000 net per month (an example)... you don’t donate 8,000 and continue driving a Dacia!!! Never ever!!!

You might donate 500... or 1,000... which would be insanely much...

I am of the same opinion even though I will never get there...

we are not that far off from your example after my parental leave and I still drive a Dacia out of conviction [emoji51]. But yes, my statement was not universally valid.

And back to the original topic: Money for the car is very individual. Period.
