With several weeks of delay and still not completely finished, you can finally get a feel for what the courtyard will be like.

I think it's great that you stayed true to your house design, and in the end, it simply looks incredibly unique and beautiful! Not like some run-of-the-mill house where everything looks just like the neighbors' next door. When you come in, you see the atrium and the beautiful olive tree and say to yourself inside: "Wow, this is where I want to live!" Great job!

I am already very much looking forward to more pictures!

Thank you very much!

Now that we have been at it for a few weeks, I can say that most of the tips and recommendations here were certainly correct or sensible. One could have built a similar living space more cheaply and more efficiently, but with too much “optimization,” individuality quickly falls by the wayside.

Even though I skillfully ignored most of the tips here ;) , it was super helpful to be made aware of certain things.

I would like to take this opportunity: Many thanks to everyone who participated!

What would you do differently after all? Or which tips should you have accepted in hindsight?

Oh, I wouldn't do anything drastically different, we like it as it is. Maybe we should have stuck with the wooden floorboards that we now covered with tiles in floorboard look, but in the long run, the tiles are certainly easier to maintain... especially with our slightly incontinent senior dog.

Otherwise, it's mostly cosmetic things I would do differently, but most of that can still be changed later.

What quickly became clear, for example, is that haydee was right and we are walking our feet off ;)
