Dear builders,

we want to build a single-story house, 8 m by 11 m.

Viewed from the street side, the plot slopes down about 1.50 m, and the plot also slopes down about 50 cm from left to right when viewed from the street side. One of the 8 m wide gable sides runs parallel to the street.

Regarding the house entrance, there are now 2 options: Either the entrance is on the street side, then there is a slope of about 23 cm between the street and the entrance over a distance of 5 m. In heavy rain, there would basically be a risk that water could run from the street into the entrance.

Or the entrance is planned on the right side when viewed from the street side. Then the entrance would be 1.30 m higher than the driveway to the garage. According to this, there would be no problems in heavy rain.

The side entrance would have the disadvantage that the building structure would have to be shifted 1.20 m to the left, otherwise the stairs to the driveway would extend too far into the driveway, and a car could no longer pass the stairs. If the building structure is shifted to the left, about 12 sqm of the "sun garden" in the southwest would be lost. The entire plot is 640 sqm.

What would you decide? 12 sqm more sun garden and increased risk in heavy rain or 12 sqm less sun garden and no risk in heavy rain? Thanks in advance.

Seems very theoretical to me. The rainwater from the roof is also drained, right? Or? You connect a drain to it, which discharges the water on the access path just before the front door. Then, of course, the entrance from the street to the eight-meter side. What does the civil engineer say?

Thank you for your response, Nordlys. The conversation with the civil engineer has not yet taken place. Good idea to connect to the [Regenwasserabfluß].

12 sqm of how much?
1.20 width of how much "sunny side"? (As if the sun doesn't shine anywhere else ;) )

Greetings

640 is the plot.
It’s about what remains in the end :)
So garden on the left side, to the left of the house then
