In the next few weeks, our carport with an attached shed will finally be installed.

Thanks to the shed, I will finally have space and storage for tools and garden equipment.

For the setup of the shed, such as workbench, cabinets, shelves, and the like, is there current experience regarding buying ready-made or better to build yourself?

To be honest, I don’t want to spend several thousand euros on the setup. When I see that a 1.80 m workbench with two drawers is supposed to cost 700€ already.

Something from eBay Classifieds is only a patchwork because the dimensions are different, which then has to be adjusted again.

I was thinking about a row of cheap dressers, kitchen base cabinets ala I**A, R***r, and the like, with a solid wood board on top. Of course, the cabinets and drawers, shelves would be reinforced accordingly by myself.

I don’t have heavy equipment, just the usual household stuff like cordless screwdrivers, small angle grinders, and so on.

The advantage is that I could use several cabinets from one series, all with a similar or identical look. And it wouldn’t look like it was collected from the bulky waste.

Or is there another shop/manufacturer with a reasonable price-performance ratio?
So far, with the big online retailer starting with A, I have mostly come across mixed reviews because it turns out to be Chinese junk, etc.

Ikea even has metal fronts that are often used for outdoor kitchens.

There are pallet racks for next to nothing. New. And then connect them with a worktop. Below or combined [Rollcontainer] made of metal from Ikea. You can really have some fun with that. The solid worktop will be the most expensive part. Show me when it’s finished.

Then your first project could be the expansion of the shed, or what else is the tool intended for.
Workbenches, shelves, etc. are there to keep things organized.
Measure, plan, get materials from cheap to expensive, build, and done

My husband also bought a used kitchen and then nailed a worktop from the hardware store on it. Reinforced the cabinets where necessary and a shelf from Tego-Metall (also used) with a pegboard, where all the tools hang neatly. Fits. :)

Assemble the heavy-duty shelf from Toom half-height. Also suitable for repotting, etc.
