Wood stringer staircase - railing rods

I like it. We are not building a new house, have bought an existing one and would like a new staircase because the old one cannot be sanded well. I have requested an offer for a wooden staircase from Poland. There are a few relevant websites. Does anyone have experience with that?

Metal or wooden sticks were freely selectable. Do as you like. Staircase also sprayed with clear acrylic lacquer. White would have cost extra, he didn’t want that either because he said if we install white, we will definitely get a scratch in it, it will need repainting and fuss and bother. Then in the end nothing remains, or you just put a proper surcharge on it, which he would also do. I did not ask about blue, yellow, orange or tiger-striped.

Is just under €280 gross extra charge for metal rods instead of wood a fair price? I am lacking a bit of a feel for that. For a quarter-turn staircase with about 2.80m of railing in the attic, or from the ground floor to the attic under the handrail.

I think it's okay. We should have paid 400€ back then. With Nordlys, it was included right away... You are exactly in the middle.

Surcharge wood -> stainless steel with us approx. 165€.

sounds very affordable. What is the extent of your staircase? Simply straight and finished, or also a railing up to the wall in the attic? Or to put it another way, for how many rods?
