And even the €69 I consider very low. Of course, you can still save in various places (Cat.5 instead of Cat.7, no protective conduit, no inspection), but when I think that I paid (a bit) more eight years ago and that was without patch panel and test report, I would still be skeptical. Does the price apply per port (one connection) or per double socket?

Right. Let's do a calculation (net): Double socket e.g. Metz Connect modular or not, doesn't matter about 12 € 2x keystone + proportional patch panel = 12€ 15m cable duplex Cat.7 = 17€ Protective conduit M25 approx. 6€ Material = 47€ A Fluke DSP suitable for measurement costs about 5000€. But not every electrician makes a test report. Many use only a 10€ cheap continuity tester. For testing I used to charge 6€ per port (including printed report). Let's say currently 14€ per double socket. That leaves just 8€ for laying and connecting. Estimated 15 minutes for connecting 4 times (2x double socket, 2x keystone on the patch panel). Even without testing and report = 22 € left for laying, that is really tight. If it is per port, it is well paid, if per double socket see above.

I am reading along here, interested in the topic, and would like to know more about it. Where can I get further information?

I always thought it was just a power cable in the wall and LAN in the wall, that's all.

That is at least one solution, but not the only one. What exactly do you want to know?

If the device doesn't support POE, then you need both.

Say what you want to know and we'll help you.

How do I plan my electrical installation cost-effectively and through self-study, or how do I upgrade it in existing buildings? As far as I know, you have to chase walls or "lay" cables, but which connectors and plugs (as read here) are still needed for LAN or fiber optics in the house?

My goal would be to have LAN and at the same time lay power and TV cables in several rooms.
