Hello dear members of the forum,

I have been a silent reader myself for a few weeks/months now and have found helpful threads here so far, all about house building.

My planning is already completely finished, I am currently just about to start construction and wanted to share the planning as well as the floor plan with you, since I was able to pick up many tips and tricks on the topic here as mentioned.

How I came to this floor plan: I looked at several floor plans online and also visited a model home park to get some inspiration for a nice room layout/structure, additionally I discussed some details with a friend who is a draftsman. This is basically how I came up with my floor plan myself and presented it to my planner.

What I didn’t like about most of the bungalow floor plans I have seen so far were the comparatively large hallway areas, so I kept the hallway, which opens directly to the open plan room, small, since I will basically (>90% probably) enter the house through the garage/laundry room.

I hope the attached files can be seen well. :-)

Best regards,
thoughtless86

Why do you only let us look into the pot at five to twelve, when you have been reading along for a while? - you should actually have noticed by now that you can intervene earlier; what is still up for discussion at all? You unfortunately cut off part of the dimension lines. Nevertheless, it can be seen that (why?) many fantasy dimensions are planned - that is, those that deviate from the standard dimension. That will bring you shoddy workmanship to be avoided.

Thanks for the first feedback. Because I think that maybe many "readers" here would simply like to get ideas from other floor plans, that was the case with me for example and as far as I have seen I was not the first either... what do you mean by so-called fantasy dimensions? This floor plan corresponds 1:1 to the one from my approved building application. I have to say that the ceiling height will be 2.80 m, maybe that explains some things. Unfortunately, the complete dimensions would no longer have been readable, which is why I had to cut off a part... sorry for that.

Okay, if you would kindly provide a real sample floor plan for other searching readers: then it is less tragic if it no longer benefits your own project; but a pity (?)
Masonry units are nowadays chosen in large formats and processed without mortar in the joints, i.e. only interlocked there. This makes fantasy dimensions – those that do not "fit" the rhythm of the stone formats – difficult to practically impossible to compensate. This then leads to unnecessarily having to saw stones or to partially "fill" the joints with mortar after all. For example, a wall section of 4.21 m (next to the bed), 4.25 m would have been in rhythm, here one will now saw off 4 cm.

Fantasy dimensions e.g. 3.00m are difficult to wall, in the end every penultimate stone has to be cut or there are wide joints, botched pockets. With our building block there was a dimension of 12.5cm, each dimension could be increased or decreased by a multiple of that. I like the floor plan, is it for 1 or 2 people?

Thanks @ant11 and , I understand, you are indeed the first to bring up this note, but you never stop learning. I will talk to my BU about it again, but as I said, everything is basically finalized and also approved... The house is currently for me, but that can still change.
