Which terrace furniture?

We are currently thinking about which terrace furniture we should get. I would like something to flop into, since we will already have a dining table set in the pavilion. That's why I would find a lounge nice. However, I wonder how durable these pieces are? We have no roof over the terrace and in winter they would also have to stay outside. I was thinking of something like this:

The furniture is made of aluminum with rattan.

Does anyone have experience with something like this? Can they stay outside in wind and weather? Would protective covers be sufficient?

What terrace furniture have you chosen and why?

We have something like that. Also exactly in that style. But you have to make sure the furniture is well made and mimics the rattan. The inexpensive versions with the flat rattan don't last long, as pieces keep tearing out.

Cover tarps are enough and in winter everything can stay outside. For us, it is now the second winter. They look as if they were just delivered. Also no roof but just an umbrella.

I have been complaining about fake stuff the whole time and bought something like that myself - My wife wanted outdoor furniture made of rattan. However, the material is not suitable to survive outside. Therefore, we have furniture outside that is "woven" like rattan furniture and looks like rattan - but is made of plastic. I still find the feel somewhat unusual, but these things are really good. Cushions go inside in winter, furniture stays outside.

Plastic rattan is well suited. The manufacturer does not really matter. What is important is that the frame is actually aluminum. Cheaper manufacturers use plain steel, which then rusts. My ex took our old set - it has been exposed to wind and weather since 2012. Just spray it off with a pressure washer in the spring and that’s all the maintenance it needs.

Yes, I can only confirm that. I have had the pseudo-rattan garden chair series from Lidl outside for 8 years now, and nothing happens to the chairs.

And the cushions are kept in a spacious storage box from Keter. Outside all year round, summer and winter, although also covered, since everything is open, it sometimes gets wet in the corner. But that does not harm the cushions.
