Not finished yet. But it’s nothing special anyway. Wow, thanks for the pictures. Those are exactly my concerns. We have a south-facing terrace and the trees will take decades before they provide any shade. We would cover with "housse" (is that what you call it?) – you can buy those to match and order a big box for the cushions at the same time (those are available too). But rain is usually less of a problem, it’s the sun that’s the issue. And you don’t usually cover the furniture in the sun. The sheets you made even look really good, I think. But they must get pretty hot, right?

Google "Polyrattan weaving." You will find flat weaves like those at and round weaves. The flat ones are significantly more prone to damage.

That is what I was talking about at the beginning. The furniture with the flat strands is useless. On the other hand, the rattan imitations last for years without problems. But they are more expensive. For example, this here:

Does anyone have a tip for decent garden furniture that doesn't look like something for grandpa and grandma? Table 240cm wood/metal?

I can't say anything about the durability of our "Rattan" seating set after just under a year. It's a cheap piece from OBI. It stands uncovered on the terrace in rain and snow, if only because I would hear the rain on a tarp all night. Bringing the cushions under the roof almost daily is annoying – and of course takes up space. But we always did it anyway – also because we have many birds and don't want their droppings on the cushions. But above all, pay attention to a comfortable sitting and reclining position. With the square lounge furniture, I was bothered by the short backrest. The adjustable chairs with high backrests are much more comfortable. Additionally, it was important to me that the pieces have high legs so that the wooden terrace can dry well again and again.
