It is spring and everyone is buying patio furniture, but actually it is better to buy counter-cyclically. So whoever still has time waits until September, then the bargains come.

Yes, that's what I had planned anyway. I want to get information now and choose the model. Then add it to the Idealo watchlist and strike when it fits!

Thanks to the others for the help. I have to discuss this with my wife, she is afraid that the armrests will be worn out in no time.

You can try that, but I wouldn't bet on it. The models are sold out in September and only the junk is left.

About 10-11 years ago we bought terrace furniture for 200-300€ made of simple eucalyptus wood. For the first 5 years they stood under a roof. No damage at all. After the first summer outside they suffered more than they did in the previous 5 years. After 3 summers outdoors they already looked pretty worn out. Since we have had the roof, it hasn’t gotten much worse at least. Our roof is over a west-facing terrace measuring 6x4m. When there is strong wind, rain/snow blows in from the west or south also under the roof. The lower under the roof, the further the rain reaches inside. That’s why we made sure, when we bought ours, that only the tabletop and armrests are made of wood and the frames are made of stainless steel. It should be said that teak is significantly more robust than the simple eucalyptus we have.

We tried that too. We were at a specialty store for garden furniture. Their "bargains" for almost €4000 and up they wanted to get rid of. We were even willing to invest in that price range, but actually wanted a different table. Only they didn’t want to order it for us because they absolutely wanted to get rid of all their stuff. This is already the second time we’ve been treated like this in a small "specialty store." Then it has to die out.

Well, there are minimum order quantities for imported furniture. It's not just about the financial investment – there also has to be storage space. You can't store a truckload of furniture just because of one table. The big ones order once a quarter anyway; the table doesn’t make much of a difference there. But the small one will simply sell better to someone else...
