For us:
Basement windows (light well) RC2, since the area is poorly visible. In the living room there is also a floor-to-ceiling element on the same side as the basement window, so that one is also RC2. Otherwise, basically everywhere RC2N (i.e. only fittings in RC2, windows with normal triple glazing, thus without P4A laminated safety glass).
The surcharge for the basement window in RC2 compared to normal was about €150, for the living room about €180.
The surcharge for the entire upper floor in RC2N is €170, for example for the entire basement and ground floor in RC2 about €4400, which is simply too much for us. Price info for the entire ground floor in RC2N is still missing, but it should be similar to the upper floor, so about €170.
Presumably the laminated safety glass is the cost driver here, therefore:
Fittings everywhere RC2N (for the whole house, 11 windows, of which 2 large sliding doors), since the surcharge of about €300 is okay, only where the area is poorly visible (light well side) RC2 applies, i.e. fittings and laminated safety glass. The front door will be “based on RC2,” whatever that means. It is more of a subjective thing for my wife, I would not need it since the front door faces directly onto the street side. So we have found a quite reasonable way for us, i.e. with about €700 net at least RC2 fittings everywhere, and additionally laminated safety glass in the poorly visible area. Whether anyone will ever actually break the glass, I doubt, so “only” the fittings are enough for us.
To my knowledge, the police recommend RC2 in the basement and ground floor, RC2N in the upper floor, but to me that does not make any healthy sense with a surcharge of over €5000.
