We are now using RC2 everywhere. The police told us mechanical protection is preferred over electronic protection, such as [Alarmanlage].

I have not dealt with burglary-resistant glazing. However, it is important to me that all windows have a mushroom head locking mechanism. It is shocking how easily even laymen can pry open a window with a normal screwdriver.

Additional information regarding RC2N vs. RC2:
"RC2N (N stands for no glass) - is an RC2 window element including professional installation, without any claim to the glazing, so usually 'normal thermal insulation glass' is installed here without safety levels, i.e. no P4A glazing, as is common with RC2 windows." or from the "RC-System folder Burglary Resistance" by Gutmann AG:

"Resistance class RC 2 or RC 2N:
According to this system description, elements for resistance classes RC 2 and RC 2N can be manufactured.
The only difference between these (two) classes is the glass used.
For resistance class RC 2N, all manufacturing and installation steps, including glass attachment, are to be carried out as for RC 2. Only the glass itself is not subject to any requirements."
Maybe this helps one or the other.

EG is RC2N with lockable handles. OG is RC1 with handles in the children's rooms.

I do not expect glass breakage, so that is sufficient for us.

We have RC2N completely because some windows on the upper floor would definitely be accessible if someone climbs. Additionally, reed contacts on all windows, which are to be secured by a "mini alarm system." However, we do not yet know exactly how we want to solve that.... I cannot say the surcharge for RC2N, as this was already set for us anyway, so we did not even request the prices for the others.

RC2 on the ground floor, which has already protected us from a break-in, upstairs then RC2. The P4A glazing has an additional cost of 2500 euros, including the terrace and side window of the front door.

But these days we installed the camera at the front and an alarm system is still being set up in the house via KNX.

If we didn't have KNX, we wouldn't have bought a separate alarm system. The burglary protection would definitely have been installed.
