Have waived a disability insurance. In my opinion, it is too expensive for adequate benefits - however, I am also a desk worker and therefore rather healthy for a long time in the job.

However, the statistics clearly speak against that. The problem is that the only income necessary for permanent debt service capability, and thus for the family to remain in homeownership, is essential. If it is no longer available due to illness, an additional burden from moving and high medical costs is inevitable.

One of the indispensable insurances. Comes immediately after liability insurance.

However, it costs more per month than all my other insurances combined - that's why hardly anyone has it. I don't know any (commonly known) insurance that is less in demand.
If you have money to spare or have a profession that you consider risky, then sure. However, I do not - I can do better things with the thousands of € per year...

I have a BU as part of my contributions to the Architektenkammer.

Additionally, I have none, because as a self-employed person you have to prove in case of emergency that you have loss of income due to illness. This can be difficult, but everyone has to decide for themselves.

A few thousand euros? Well, mine doesn’t cost a four-figure amount per year. It is also the most expensive insurance, but I consider it indispensable, especially for office workers who nowadays are very prone to rushing towards burnout. My industry is also not classified as a risk group, but in reality it is quite vulnerable. And as the main earner for the family, I would consider it negligent not to have such insurance.

Hello,

I also consider disability insurance to be one of the most important types of insurance overall.

Many years before building the house, I therefore took out disability insurance that reimburses the full amount of the premiums paid upon entering retirement (the generated surpluses are kept by the insurer) if I have never made a claim.

At that time, I had the gap calculated between my net salary and the disability pension from the state pension insurance together with the disability pension from my employer, and I closed exactly that gap.

This insurance also does not cost me EUR 300.00 per year...

Regards,

Dirk
