Why access points instead of repeaters?

The minor issue with access points for us is the electromagnetic pollution. The topic is scientifically controversial, with studies pointing in all directions, but as a precaution we would like to reduce this exposure.

Otherwise, the technician recommended 2 access points in the attic (in opposite directions because they only transmit within a 180-degree radius).

Electrosmog is probably greater with WLAN. You turn your entire wiring into a huge antenna. I would only use something like that in an old building and not in a new building where there are better solutions. I would install at least one LAN socket in each room and additionally use WLAN. For laptops, tablets, and smartphones, LAN is simply too inconvenient. Drywall is not a problem for WLAN, your floor ceiling probably isn't either...

In our house, the floor ceiling effectively insulates the Wi-Fi (Fritzbox on the ground floor, 20 cm concrete, 8 cm insulation, underfloor heating, screed). Therefore, I join the LAN cable faction (including access point).

WARNING this post contains sarcasm!

Maybe you should then consider installing heating, water, and electricity exposed on the wall. It might actually happen that something breaks. Especially bad with underfloor heating, so I recommend coke ovens or similar. And where are you saving something? You will more likely install an additional socket so that the things are out of sight. Because repeaters are a "crutch." They will never achieve the same result as an access point, that's just how it is. You pick up the signal (which is weak) and amplify it a bit. The access point is connected to a network socket, so it gets a fresh signal. E-smog? What about cell phones? Alarm clocks? Radio? All things running all night long. You can either put the access point into eco mode at night or have it completely switched off; that shouldn't be a problem (unless you're cutting corners in the wrong place).

Alternatively in all cases: tin foil hats

WLAN is only sensible as an emergency solution when nothing else is possible and really has no place in new buildings. You will never get out of passable speeds… for your fakeHD Entertain that might still work… but with HD at decent bit rates and proper sound (Atmos etc.) you will be stuck with seriously stuttering images. And we’re not even talking about 4k yet… And it goes even further… with 8k, copper is also at its limit. We lay an empty conduit to the living room to get fiber optics there later.

In every room where it is needed, lay cables, it doesn’t cost the world and the DLAN adapters just lie around and are not exactly a beauty, furthermore you can do SAT over IP, connect phones, or other uses, per floor I would provide one access point, you can take devices from Ubiquiti for example, they are quite good and you can also set them so that they stop their radio traffic at appropriate times.
