Hello,

How is "better alternative" defined?
There is no general "ultimate" heating system, as each building project is specific in terms of its framework and boundary parameters. Every heat generator has advantages but also disadvantages.
Moreover, if gas condensing boilers were the universally only "miracle solution," then there would be, for example, no heat pumps, HVAC, etc.
Blanket "pro" or "contra" statements are more harmful than beneficial.

Best regards.

Correct. And with regard to the framework and boundary parameters, for me the gas condensing boiler is the better alternative compared to the overpriced, noisy, electricity-consuming heat pumps. Nevertheless, it is keine belastbare Grundlage für eine wesentliche Investitionsentscheidung. ;-)

Hello,

Sorry, that is a gross prejudice!

With proper calculation and use of the right size and thus provider for your new building, an air-to-water heat pump is by no means "overpriced" and certainly not "noisy" or "power-guzzling."

It is your right to freely choose a proven heat generator on the market. But please do not use the above argument as a purchase decision, because it is simply not true.

Hi, there are also minor differences in noise development with heat pumps. You should also take a look at the radiation characteristics – with suitable installation, you can gain something again (or more or less disturb the neighbors). As for gas: is a gas connection available at all? Especially in edge-of-town areas, there are always streets where gas is not available. Alternative: wood in any form, or electric after all... Regards I.

Sorry, but unfortunately that's how it is. I wish it were different. I obtained several offers, and with each offer the air heat pump was significantly more expensive than the gas condensing boiler. The units are noisy anyway. I actually wanted to have good relations with my neighbors, but with an air heat pump that probably won't happen. Well, and they are power hungry as well, and at these prices it doesn't have to be. As I said, compared to the gas condensing boiler. That's my opinion on it. There are already considerations to drive the air heat pump with gas instead of electricity. Maybe it will appear on the market sometime. Then people will start converting again. That's how it works in the economic market. First convince people, then sell, and then bring better products to the market and sell again, and so on.......

Gas condensing boiler + connection costs are usually on par with an air heat pump ;-)
Not all. Furthermore, if you don’t want the evaporator outside, you can choose a completely indoor installation.
Very superficial. Certainly, air heat pumps require electricity, but the consumption is lower than the demand because environmental energy can be used. With gas condensing boilers, consumption is always higher than demand since there are no lossless heat generators!
These already exist. Whether that makes sense, however, is rather questionable. Choosing an internal combustion engine with poor efficiency as a drive is probably rather unfavorable. Not to mention maintenance and servicing effort.
With an air heat pump, you achieve subsidy levels much more easily and don’t have to purchase uneconomical solar thermal systems additionally.

Best regards

NB:
If you have not determined the actual demand of your building (capacity, energy) for heating and hot water, a reliable assessment is hardly possible. Until then, it’s mostly conjectures, assumptions, or speculation.
