Could be, depends on the house

Maybe, but not necessarily. A second meter exists for special heat pump electricity. We waived it and use cheap electricity for heating + general electricity.

Comparison value for a new KFW-50 house of our neighbors. Air source heat pump, 166 sqm living area, consumption 2014: 1,088 kWh (plus hot water 505 kWh)

Hello, we are 2 units and 5 people (approx. 240 sqm living space). Projected, we will need about 3800 kW for operating the air pump (conversion of outside air for heating & heat demand of hot water in cold periods / we have solar thermal on the roof here).

Your local electricity provider should have the HT/NT prices on their homepage. At least that’s the case with us. As far as I can see, we have about 6-8 cents per kW price advantage compared to regular electricity.

Yes, you have 3 meters, house electricity + HT/NT meter for the pump.

Hello nordanney,

how did you determine the share of hot water?

Thank you for the comparative numbers. That already shows me it varies from... to... depending on many factors.

The concept of an air heat pump is really interesting, I definitely need some basic literature on it. I will go looking for some.

What you have to incorporate into your overlays are the costs of the technology... To be fair, I have to say that we had no alternative (because of meeting the KfW standard or the developer only sold it that way)

Depending on the type, you should be able to at least read the compressor running times for heating and hot water on the heat pump. Then you can calculate it proportionally... - or even directly the energy consumed - and the amount of heat produced...

You can only compare comparable things. For example: the same house on the Lower Rhine or in Franconia - and you already have higher consumption - although neither the heat pump nor the house is worse.
Also, the number of occupants (hot water portion) and the desired room temperatures do not allow for a direct comparison.
