I heard from an acquaintance that his air source heat pump consumes about 5000 kWh annually. I still lack some basics, but I was a bit shocked!
Could be, depends on the house
Also, it is said that the pump has a separate electricity meter and receives discounted/subsidized electricity.
Maybe, but not necessarily. A second meter exists for special heat pump electricity. We waived it and use cheap electricity for heating + general electricity.
Is the consumption really that high?
Comparison value for a new KFW-50 house of our neighbors. Air source heat pump, 166 sqm living area, consumption 2014: 1,088 kWh (plus hot water 505 kWh)
