That's exactly how we currently have it and it will probably be the same in the new house.

We had laminate before and in my opinion cork is "warmer" and also not as loud.

Unfortunately, I can't say the manufacturer anymore, it's been a while.

We have chosen 4 mm thick pre-sealed panels from the manufacturer "KWG". Whether it is recommendable, I might be able to say after a few years. Another provider would be Wicanders, although I am more familiar with their ready-to-install panels.

4mm is very thin though.

Our glued vinyl is also "only" 4 mm thick. I once had cork engineered parquet in a rental apartment, it was quite okay. Nice and warm, but from my point of view also very sensitive... (As soon as something sharp falls, you immediately get a few cork crumbs, but this doesn't really stand out) Do you then have real "pinboard" cork, or do you have a different design?

Tiles are hardly any thicker (if at all, I don’t have any on hand right now). In combination with underfloor heating, the covering should not be too thick either. Anyway: 4 mm is more than enough. We will rather get cork with a natural look. Just take a look for example at kwg-Kork.de/Böden/Kork/paco/ ... there is practically everything (although in some variants the cork only forms the backing layer, the decor is achieved by a coating).

You can’t really say that in general. Our tiles are between 9 and 11 mm thick.
