We do this with a hose and floor squeegee. The glass is slippery, of course. With real glass, you obviously can't see the bird droppings anymore. We cleaned the top side at least 3 times last year. Since we now have a window vacuum cleaner, we will test it on the underside with a telescopic pole at the next opportunity.

We have bought a 4m telescopic pole including a cleaning attachment and will test it this spring. I also think that the top side needs to be cleaned more than once a year. Of course, this also depends on the exact location [Bäume, Feinstaub, Industrie, Pollen].

In autumn, I already used the telescopic pole to remove the leaves. It worked well.

Our roof is walkable, but I don't need to try that.

Either I stand in front of the roof with a ladder or I stand at the window on the upper floor and clean from there.

Ladder on one side, garage roof on the other. But I'll just let a company handle it very decadently, for all the windows plus the roof. Twice a year, it’s not that expensive here (if I calculate my hourly wage and the hassle).

With a 4m telescopic pole and at that angle, you probably won't get enough pressure to remove the bird droppings. We also had window cleaners once last year. Even they then realized that next time they would have to bring something stronger. There were still spots everywhere. I suspect it's some kind of sticky pollen.

Does it become more durable if one uses frosted glass?

Doesn't it get worse? The surface is rougher then...
