A normal triple-glazed window is always significantly colder on the inside than the walls. Just touch it... of course, I'm talking about winter!

Therefore: more than 3... there are, for example, nice 2x laminated safety glass windows with a total of 5 panes. They are just a bit thicker then.

You cannot compare the perceived contact coldness (which depends not only on temperature but also on thermal conductivity) with radiant coldness. The latter is purely temperature-dependent.

And no, a good triple-glazing should not be significantly colder on the inner glass than the masonry next to it. A few degrees do not cause radiant coldness. But if it is noticeable to the touch, something is wrong.

Actually, the insulation within the pane assembly should be so good that the inner glass is kept at an acceptable temperature by heating the rooms. If it is not, then you do not have a suitable pane. Whether it is a fault or the wrong quality is another question.

Thank you very much in advance. I hadn’t considered the issue with the cold. The orientation of the front would be almost exactly to the west. The heating up in summer could be limited there, right? Does anyone have some costs for me? There were a few comments from people who installed such fronts.

I am only repeating what I heard directly from the client. And this person didn’t really have to watch the money... so I assume that no corners were cut on the windows.

Even an expensive window can be faulty/improperly installed, whatever.

There are conservatories where you don't have that problem (in winter) and they are glass boxes attached to a house wall. And certainly not all made of 5-layer glass.

What I want to say is: radiant coldness is not a valid argument against panorama panes. That’s on the topic.

A roof overhang does not help on the west side. For us, the shutter is always down then.
