Cellar vs. large garage

We no longer have a basement and think that’s great. The washing machine and dryer are in the utility room, which is much more convenient than before in the basement. Otherwise, everyone has to decide for themselves what they might need a basement for (hobbies, sports room, etc.), everyone has different wishes.

How do you insulate such a room, are the partition walls then 30cm thick made of sand-lime brick and a soundproof door?

we have installed soundproof walls (Poroton) and a soundproof door.

How strict is your community with the garage regulations? There are said to be communities that check the intended use of a garage ...

We have a wooden house but the washing machine and dryer are on an insulated platform - you can't hear anything there.

And I'll admit it: we have ironed bed linens *blushing*. Not only because they take up less space in the closet - I just find it wonderful to get into a freshly made bed when the bed linens are ironed. It's just so ....HAAAAAACH!

And I'll come out: we have ironed bed linen *blushing*.

What's there to come out about? For me, bed linen has to be ironed; first, it looks better and second, it is much smoother and therefore feels better.
