You know what? You are right. As always, when you project yourself onto others. I was lucky for 12 years straight because I basically always managed things incorrectly. And everyone else who does it the same way is also lucky, actually clueless.

What exactly is there to "manage" in a passive product like accumulating ETFs? And why are the returns here unbelievable, even though they are verifiable?

Just because the earnings are reinvested by the company doesn't mean it's a one-way street. You don't seriously want to convince me that you bought ETFs 12 years ago and then just left them. Never sold and bought? Never? If not, then you didn't manage it actively; if yes, then you did

Of course not. Only repurchased if there was something left for it. Selling is not the point for me.

So studied prices, and if it ever went down, bought more to lower the purchase price. I would say actively managed.

Man, just stop.

He did write that it was if there was something left over, not when the prices fell.
Of course, buying ETFs is also an active action. Yes, you are right, he invested actively. Just with a time effort that is probably rather small.

But you can really get on someone's nerves...

Who says active investing is without time effort? Where does it say that? This only shows that your calculations about owning/renting or investing in the financial market are totally absurd. So many factors play a role. And not a single saver goes fully into the stock market. It's rather the €50 savings plans... Germans save in savings books and building savings contracts and you don't get such returns there. In recent years, overnight and fixed deposits at online banks have become popular. That's it.
