That is also a top salary for Munich... I would be really curious about the stuff some people here take.

Just early 30s, 8k€ net per month, plus 2x holiday and Christmas bonuses, but yes, completely normal for Munich... Even with 3500€ per month for house and utilities, there are still 4500€ left to live on, that just about covers the bills.

If there are children, it's no longer 8k net. Adjusted for private health insurance? Yes, the salary is okay, but then you have at least 700k ahead of you. Better to rent then.

How do you come to [PKV], it hasn't been mentioned at all?

And even during parental leave, you can get by well with the remaining money.

You just have to decide if you want to spend that much money, it is definitely doable.
