We only got it for "3" months. Has that been changed? I'm pretty sure it said 2018 from birth for us. It referred to 36 months.

I generally like your suggestion. However, I am unsure how the costs for land and construction will develop over the next two years. So whether higher equity in two years will offset the additional costs for the land and house construction or an existing property. From myself and my husband, I can say that hesitating about the land has cost us several tens of thousands of euros, and if we do not commission the new house soon, we will have to pay another approximately 15,000 to 20,000 more.

I don't know if it was different before, today definitely from the 13th to the 36th month of life.

No matter, it is a lot of money + the subsidy for childcare. You really can't complain about that.

Back to the topic. Big leaps are not possible with the house. Maybe buy the land now and then save again, so that some equity is there or at least 1 full-time job + 1 part-time job again.

I am not sure whether it is worthwhile, considering the development of rents, for a family of four (perhaps five in the future) to live in an apartment and not finance a house instead. In addition, from my point of view, which could be wrong, an apartment for 2-3 children should be so large that it is already expensive now. In my experience, such large apartments are either expensive and then inhabited by older couples who feel disturbed by 2-3 children, or the apartments are located in a socially disadvantaged area where you would not want to see your children grow up. However, these are experiences from a city with 500,000 inhabitants; maybe it is different in the Allgäu.
