It shouldn’t be that shocking for you; as a sole earner, it has always been difficult.

The salary is good and certainly also in the middle-class range. But you yourself say that you used to spend all your money on consumption. You simply lack the equity. Even in the middle class today, it is common for both parents to work. Financing a house as a single earner was also difficult in the past.

Exactly the right approach. It will work out in the next few years.

I no longer work shifts
I no longer work as a regular base worker, I have studied and do project work and training... Btw I am in tax class 3... Nevertheless, I work in psychiatric care.

you are right, but it is settled for now. Furthermore, I am a bit shocked at how many replies I got here in such a short time O.o
Thanks

btw... outpatient clinic – I guess a team under 8 full-time equivalents – that makes you team leader and that’s not that great. And no, I am not in a lower position.
Ah, and just so you know, in psychiatry everyone is in P8 – plus 3 nights and 2 Sundays – you're also in tax class 1 with 2,500 € net...
Your wife will be at most in P10 – unless they don’t pay according to the collective agreement.

I wouldn't know what
a) I should have said about your studies
b) that could have to do with your financing
c) your tax class and job title/qualification would change about my opinion
d) could shock you if you receive what you wanted, namely answers to your questions

Oh sorry somehow I thought you were one of those people who ask more precisely about the salary...
