Hello everyone,

in our future house we have a water hardness of 23-25 dh. I have spoken with some people from the new development area and many are having a water softening system installed directly. Now I have done some research on the internet, but to be honest I am a bit unsure. Many swear by salt, but what about something like a Watercat Cube? Does such a system work with my water hardness?

the lime content contained in the water to be treated is crystallinely changed and remains in the water (Beschreibung im Internet)

Sure... And if you buy immediately, you get these super fuel-saving magnets for free!

Hello, take a conventional descaling system from BTW or Grünbeck. We have Grünbeck, the costs are manageable ... Purchase about €2500, salt per year about €24, maintenance from the plumber €120. How is it with the magnets? Does the wizard come during maintenance??

Hello,

Only if you danced your name on the phone beforehand!

By the way, my parents' neighbor (a trained chemist!) once, decades ago, stuck such "anti-limescale magnets" on the pipes as a joke and to show that it was nonsense, and later found that he had fewer limescale spots in the bathroom. That made him ponder for years and doubt his studies...

Regarding salt systems: with what water hardness does the water come out of such a softening system? Here we only have about 15 dH. But the limescale spots and the frequent descaling of kettles and the like are already annoying. And I would like to spare myself the trouble with clogged pipes that my mother has today after 40 years in her house.

Best regards,

Andreas

You can adjust that. There was someone here who once set it down to 0 and then complained about the salt consumption, if I remember correctly.
