Well, that sounds very general, like everything without a brand name is useless.
If I look at the Grünbeck SC18 and check Amazon (reviews), things don’t look so good with that manufacturer either.
Technically it sounds interesting and at 1500€ still affordable.
Any experiences?
You have the wrong approach. The question is who installs the unit for you?
1500 € is just the part, how high is the installation cost?
Who maintains it or comes by in case of warranty? If the factory customer service comes, I would first ask for a maintenance contract, which is at least three times as expensive.
What about the salt? It costs 10 € per bag, can you use other brands or does the warranty expire? If you buy salt at the hardware store, it costs about 6 €.
If I add all this up, I’d rather choose Grünbeck and/or BWT.
People always think once they buy it, that’s it. Buy a Fiat and an Audi. Drive them for 2 years and then compare the running costs.
