0 is not healthy! Residual hardness should be from 4, preferably 6-8 dH. We are still waiting for the second offer, either Judo or a Grünbeck. I am more convinced by the salt variant.

What is to be made of the Alfiltra Filtrasoft Basic 40? Does anyone know it?

Everything that has no name is worth nothing. Grünbeck and bwt are the plumbers trained for this. The factory service wanted 300€ net annually for maintenance, the plumber does it for 130€ gross.

When I look at the Grünbeck SC18 and check on Amazon (reviews), it doesn't look so good with that manufacturer either.

Technically it sounds interesting and at 1500€ still affordable.

You have the wrong approach. The question is who installs the unit for you?

1500 € is just the part, how high is the installation cost?

Who maintains it or comes by in case of warranty? If the factory customer service comes, I would first ask for a maintenance contract, which is at least three times as expensive.

What about the salt? It costs 10 € per bag, can you use other brands or does the warranty expire? If you buy salt at the hardware store, it costs about 6 €.

If I add all this up, I’d rather choose Grünbeck and/or BWT.

People always think once they buy it, that’s it. Buy a Fiat and an Audi. Drive them for 2 years and then compare the running costs.

What might be worth noting. If you need a lifting system, lifting systems and the salt generally do not get along well.

Furthermore, we were advised against using the "saltwater" as drinking water or for tea with small children.
